Alexander's new street superintendent hired

City of Alexander Mayor Paul Mitchell (right) introduced the city’s new street superintendent David Durham (left) to council members and residents attending the April 17 council meeting. Prior to coming to Alexander Durham was employed by the Saline County Highway Department as an operator/mechanic-1. 

Mitchell said Durham is already familiar with the city since he was part of the crew when Saline County was hired to do various street repairs and mowing. Mitchell added Durham should be able to operate any equipment the city rents for the street department.

Mitchell pointed out that this is the first time in many years the city has had a superintendent for the street department. Until now mayors, past and present, have taken on the role of street superintendent.
