Two elected positions, in the City of Alexander, have challengers vying to unseat two incumbents. One is Ward-4 Position-2 Council Member Juanita Wilson. The other is Mayor Crystal Herrmann.
Wilson is being challenged by Stephanie Beck and Trevis Bentley. Wilson has been charged with forgery in the second degree. The charge, a felony, is related to Wilson obtaining a city credit card for the use of then Police Chief Robert Burnett. No trial date has been set.
Mayor Herrmann is being challenged by former Mayor Paul Mitchell. Mitchell lost to Herrmann in a run-off election in December, 2022. Herrmann has been mayor since January 1, 2023.
The remaining incumbents unopposed in the November General Election are Wayne Smith (Ward 1, Position 1), Joe Pollard (Ward 1, Position 2), Joy Gray (Ward 2, Position 1), Christopher Prowse (Ward 2, Position 2), Daniel Bates (Ward 3, Position 1), Amy Lyons (Ward 3, Position 2), and Angela Griffin (Ward 4, Position 1).
