Since City of Alexander Mayor Paul Mitchell was too ill to attend the
regular March meeting, council members decided to reschedule the meeting. Also,
a work session meeting was never scheduled to meet and interview applicants for
the vacant positions of city treasurer and five seats on the new city planning
commission. Those appointments were the main items on the March 16 agenda.
After City Recorder Sharon Bankhead took the position of mayor and
Alderwoman Andrea Bearden filled in as city recorder the meeting was called to
order. Council members agreed to have a work session meeting on Monday, March
23 and rescheduled the regular March meeting for Monday, April 6. Both meetings
will be held at 6 PM in City Hall. The public is invited to attend both
meetings.
Several resumes have been submitted for the six vacancies. The work
session will be open allowing the public to watch the interviews and meet the
applicants. No official business will be conducted during the work session.
Appointments to the positions are expected to be made at the April 6 meeting.
Looks like everyone has a well deserved case of Spring Fever. So in this vacant spot I want to express my thanks to the state legislature for their moral stand this year. They usually do a really good job; but this year is exceptional. They worked together, stood together and gained together - TO OUR BENEFIT.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU ARKANSAS STATE LEGISLATURE.
It is a wonderful thing when they vote their own conscience and not cleave together in a clump, to please an icon.
