Agenda announced for Alexander Council “Special Meeting”

The agenda for tonight’s (Monday, June 29) “Special Meeting” of the Alexander city council has been posted. Listed on the agenda are, “Organization of City Council (Amended), Flood Map Ordinance (FEMA), Alexander 2015 Budget (Amended), Paychex.” The meeting will start at 6 PM in city hall. The public is invited to attend.

An amended version of the Organization of City Council rules and the amended 2015 budget were discussed at the regular monthly June meeting. A vote to table the budget was successful but an attempt to table the amended organization rules died in a four-to-four vote. There was no motion to pass the new organization document. A request for an updated flood map was received from the Federal Emergency Management Agency Friday afternoon. Whether or not to continue using Paychex has been an on-going issue.

As permitted under state law three members of the Alexander City Council scheduled the meeting. They are Dan Church, Stephanie Beck, and Jeff Watson.

  1. Well this was text book, now I know why recall was called, he voted twice illegally! Sorry now for the "red team". Ethics commission will be called in as well as legislative representative. You think I shared my upper hand not yet? Sorry

  2. I heard some of the council people voted against the fema issue tonight. Over anything else shouldn't you think of our safety first? Thank you to the council people who think of the citizens first and have priorities in order.
