The Alexander City Council has only two items on its agenda for Monday night’s meeting. They are the second reading of the redistricting ordinance and the annual approval of the Organization of City Council document.
The redistricting ordinance will redraw the city’s ward lines to provide a more even balance of the number of residents living in each ward based on the 2020 Census. Under state law the population of the wards must be plus-or-minus five-percent of each other.
The Organization of City Council document is a set of rules, which controls how council meetings will be conducted. The document is approved every January and covers the current calendar year.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 24, 6:00 PM in the courtroom at the Alexander Municipal Complex (City Hall). The public is invited to attend.
