Ward-3 Alderman Dan Church has resigned
from the City of Alexander council. He submitted his hand-written letter of
resignation to Mayor Michelle Hobbs on Thursday, July 18. The letter gave no
reason for his resignation. Church was elected in 2012 defeating incumbent
Harvey Howard.
This is the third resignation for the
council this year. The first was Ward-4 Alderman Henry Tackett, who was elected
during the November, 2012 election. He resigned for health reasons and died
shortly thereafter. The second was Ward-3 Alderman Jack Shoemaker, who resigned
after moving out of the city.
The council must now find candidates to fill the latest vacancy.
It is really hard to see good people dropping out. No choice, a highjacked government, a negated election. It is a sad situation.
ReplyDeleteThe good people of Alexander regretfully lose another caring representative.
Louella,
DeleteYour opinion of "GOOD PEOPLE" is way off base for these Council members who are resigning.
They had a choice to do what thet were elected to do. Represent their Wards at Council Meetings. In my opinion they are the ones that "negated the election" by not doing their job. The one they were ELECTED to do!!! If they were "so caring" why did they not represent the "good people of Alexander" by doing the job they were elected to do instead of just taking their pay??
Can't hardly wait until I see where Juanita resigned She is probably trying to figure out if she is Boycotting or just trying to come up with another excuse.
Bill
Of course it is 'off base to you.' I didn't expect otherwise. The good epople of alexander will agree with me. Big money your talking about there. Check and see when the last check was cashed by them.
DeleteAdditionally, Bill is still Bill, folks. You, Bill should work so hard representing the people instead of brown-nosing.
