"Anonymous" option removed

Since one or two of the readers of this blog can't use facts to backup their opinions, and have to resort to character assassination in order to have something to say, I have removed the "anonymous" option from the comment log-in menu.

If you wish to participate in this community political exercise, and you don't have any of the account types listed in the Comment Log-in Menu, you can go to Google and setup a G-mail account. Once you do that you can choose Google Account from the comment menu.

If you are digitally challenged and cannot accomplish this task, find a 10-year old.

Then, if you are already logged-in to your G-mail account when accessing the Comment Log-in Menu your G-mail address will appear. If not, you can type it in after clicking on the Google Account menu item.

If the/se same individual/s are able to rejoin The Alexandrian and continue with what is nothing more than schoolyard name calling, rather than civil debate, then their E-mail address/es will be blocked from the site.

  1. WEBMASTER'S decision is well founded, and well said.
Now we can continue with the original intent of hearing what YOU, the voter, residents of Alexander would like your Alederman to know, your in-put on issues and trends, plus WEBMASTER'S information on up-coming events. - Louella

  2. Come on you guys. Surely you aren't so unsure of your claims that you can't even remotely identify yourself. Actually, your identity is not revealed, only your intentions. So keep them clean and honest.
Let's get this show on the road - it has been too quiet, too long.
City hall stinks, you and I both know it. The inhabitants are all of the same ilk, is nothing but a P.S. to the letter PA Jegley sent to Shirley 10/07/2010 accusing her of mismanagement and questionable practices Incoming council warned us she would be back, well guess what, current mayor is not only related to her, AND was a major player in her administration for 12 plus years, she is trained, by Johnson and is 'Johnson on steroids!'

We'll continue to pay for it until something is done. Believe me, something MUST be done!

    1. The only thing being blocked is the "Anonymous" log-in. You must have done something wrong.

  5. Louella May 11, 2013 at 10:38PM,
Hope I finally am able to get on this site and publish some comments and questions. I changed some of the comments that I had before that were truths but the "Webmaster" didn't elect to publish them, I guess.

Question #1. Why do the 5 now 4 Council Members block everything that
Mayor Hobbs tries to do to help bring the City forward?
Question #2 Why do the 4 council Members Keep voting "NO" on the
appointment of Ms. Faye McKeun to fill the vacancy on
    Ward 4?
Question #3 Why did Council Member Juanita not answer Ms. McKeun;'s
question about what she had against her for always voting
NO when she is brought up to fill the vacancy.
Question #4 If this site is INCORPORATED ,as stated here, who are the
names on the Incorporation papers and where are they are
    the papers recorded?
Comment #1 Alot of people think that Ms. McKeun is the best qualified
and trained to be appointed to this position. You 4 Council
Members are not representing your Ward by trying to pass
    your own agendas.
Comment #2 Mayor Hobbs is doing the best job she can without the 4
Council Members support. Get out in your Wards and see all
Junk Cars, Trash, Junk and Etc. and help her clean it up.
The City has Ordinances on the books to clean up this City
so our image will improve and the property values will go
up. Discuss these ordinances and bring addresses to the
Council Meetings and do something besides vote "NO" on
everything that is not on your agendas. We all know what
you 4 are trying to do.
Comment #3 You 4 get off the Police Chief's behind and support him!!
Comment #4 Louella, you state that the "City Hall Stinks". To me it
smells alot better now than when JoAn and Juanita were in
there everyday trying to promote their agendas and run the
    City.
Comment #4 Jack Shoemaker should resign and put someone in his place
that will represent Ward 3. He resigned before when things
wern't going his way so why is it any different now. If
you will check he is related to ex mayor Paul Mitchell.
Maybe since his family can't get appointed he is going to
    resign.
Comment #5 You need to check out your source when you say Mayor Hobbs
    is re-lated to Shirley Johnson.
Comment #6 You say the anonymous got taken off because all the lies and
name calling. Don't you think compairing Mayor Hobbs to
"Shirley Johnson on Steriods" is a hurtful statement?
Comment #7 Maybe all the truths that people have been putting on here
hurts. Remember "The Truth Hurts". You need to just get out
of the pot if it is too HOT!!!
More Questions and Comments Later if these get published.

    2. Bill, I didn’t think I would miss you, but I did. (Kind of like when a skunk leaves and that odor is gone, you kind of don’t know what to do with all the fresh air. Nothing personal intended, just political differences.)

Question 1. I am convinced the elected Aldermen vote their conscience. Knowing them, I not only believe in what they are doing, but in their ability to lead. Apparently the voter does as well.

      Question 2 See #1

Question 3 See #2 (likely for the same reason mayor wouldn’t seat Gordon Hall.)

      Question 4, Check with CCA

Comment # 1 – and a lot of people don’t. The conservative branch of Council is not pushing its “own agenda” as you call it. I believe - see response to Question 1 above.

Comment #2: Bins were put in the city last week for cleanup (?) when a resident of Alexander was threatened with arrest for putting something in the bin because he lives in the Woodland Hills district of Alexander, I would gather that isn’t in the best interest of the ordinance, the city’s interest, and cohesion or team effort.
Your closing statement in comment 2 is very divisive and revealing of your intent.

Comment # 3: I cannot speak for the Aldermen, but as a nearby on-looker, I don’t see a lot to support here. Why do you have a full time administrator warming a chair all day in a city of 2900, most villages of this size have a working force. Why do you have an assistant doing the same thing? Both drawing a salary for sitting, doing secretarial work. My town is slightly larger, has less officers, all work as officers, one leads. Very efficient, respected and cooperative with the citizens. AND they don’t have to get up in public and remind the public that they are honest.

Comment 4 – If Mr. Shoemaker should decide to resign, I doubt that would be the reason.
You may not like his politics, but his character is impeccable.

Comment 5, You could be right on this one, but public believes they are related. I truly do not know for a fact that they are or not. However the connection is as strong (see 6 below)

Comment 6, Is it hurtful (?) or complimentary? It is all in your point of view. That is what this blog site is all about. Freedom of opinion, and a place to express it. I respect yours, though I disagree with it. I expect the same from you. As for the basis of my opinion, Hobbs was part of Johnson’s administration for many years. She received her training there. She has reached full blossom of it now that the WMIC (Worlds Most Inept Council) appointed her mayor. She believes things should be done a certain way, and conservatives believe another way is better. Sounds American to me. Quit sulking and join debate without the necessity of a pacifier. It isn’t all ONE WAY. I wish it were, but it isn’t. It’s give and take – or should be. I kind of doubt you will see anything more than ‘no votes’ until the proper respect is extended to all in city government and not just to those who stroke your ego.
8 aldermen, 1 mayor make 9 – 9 ideas put into the pot (your reference) should come up with some good solid basics to work from. Bickering, demanding and whining is leading NOWHERE. Alexander deserves better, and NEEDS better.
      BRING BACK MAYOR MITCHELL!

  6. Why would comparing Mrs Hobbs to Ms. Johnson be hurtful? They have been together for many years and she was an integral part of Johnson's administration for about 16 years? As such, she was aware, and a part of, anything that went on in her time as mayor, so she has knowledge of past procedures an how to skirt the legalities. so here we go again!!!

    1. If it is so hurtful,
and after reading Jegley's letter to Johnson of 10/07/2010 -
why is everyone so bent on paying her $800.00 a month?
